The Changwon District Court Criminal Division 2 (Chief Judge Lee Jeong-hyun) announced on the 22nd that A (47), who was tried on charges of sexual molestation (forcible molestation) of a teenage female student, was sentenced to 1 year and 6 months in prison with a 2-year suspension.
He was also ordered to undergo probation, attend 80 hours of sexual violence treatment lectures, and was banned from employment at child and adolescent-related institutions and welfare facilities for the disabled for 5 years.
On March 29, A boarded a bus at a bus stop in Gimhae-si, Gyeongnam, and sat next to a teenage female student. He then molested her by touching her thigh and saying “soft” while touching her hand.
The court stated, “The defendant’s criminal nature is not good, and he has a history of multiple punishments for similar crimes,” and added, “The sentence is determined comprehensively considering the fact that he reached an agreement with the victim.”
