[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Lotte Foods announced on the 2nd that it will launch a premium spoonable ice cream called ‘Prime Hodoo’. This product diversifies the flavor of the vanilla ice cream ‘Prime’ released in August last year.
Prime Hodoo combines raw milk from Pasteur’s exclusive farm with walnuts and maple syrup. It uses premium ingredients such as Canadian maple syrup in a 990ml volume. With a high fat content of 10%, it delivers a luxurious flavor.
Meanwhile, due to the stay-at-home culture continuing since last year and the expansion of specialty ice cream shops, sales of spoonable ice cream are increasing. Lotte Foods’ spoonable ice cream sales last year rose about 30% compared to 2019. This year, sales increased by another 10%, accounting for about 20% of Lotte Foods’ ice cream sales. In 2019, this ratio was around 17%.
A Lotte Foods official said, “Consumption of premium ice cream that can be enjoyed at home is steadily increasing,” adding, “This product enriches the luxurious taste of Prime with walnuts and natural maple syrup.”
