Government Public Officials Ethics Committee Publishes Electronic Gazette of Assets for 110 August Interim Disclosers
[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Jeong-min] A review of the property declarations of high-ranking officials subject to the August ad hoc disclosure revealed that among current officials, Lee Jong-in, Director of the Public Relations Office of the Prime Minister's Secretariat, had the highest assets, totaling 25.2501 billion KRW.
The Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission disclosed the asset registration details of 110 high-ranking officials at midnight on the 27th through the Republic of Korea Electronic Gazette. The disclosed high-ranking officials include 40 new appointees, 21 promotions, and 31 retirees, totaling 110 individuals.
Among current high-ranking officials, following Lee Jong-in, Director of the Prime Minister's Public Relations Office, Cha Sang-hoon, Chairman of the Osong Advanced Medical Industry Promotion Foundation at the Ministry of Health and Welfare, declared assets worth 16.18392 billion KRW, and Cho Seong-ryeol, Consul General at the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Osaka under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, declared 7.27056 billion KRW in assets.
Among retired high-ranking officials, the individual with the highest assets was Kim Jong-gap, former President of Korea Electric Power Corporation under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, who declared 17.73266 billion KRW. Former Minister Choi Ki-young of the Ministry of Science and ICT declared 12.9454 billion KRW, and former Chairman Choi Ki-joo of the Metropolitan Area Transportation Committee under the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport declared 8.19997 billion KRW in assets.
