[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] A vivid testimonial video from a Coupang Friend (hereafter Coupang Friend) who completed Coupang's paid health promotion program 'Coupang Care' has been posted, drawing attention.

Coupang announced on the 4th that a testimonial video from the first cohort of Coupang Care participants was released on the 'Coupang Newsroom' YouTube channel, garnering 10,000 views within a day and receiving high interest.

Coupang Care, jointly developed with experts in the medical and healthcare fields, is a health promotion program targeting delivery workers with relatively high health indicators such as blood pressure and blood sugar. It allows them to stop delivery work for four weeks and focus solely on health management.

The protagonist of the testimonial, Coupang Friend Park Ki-beom, participated in the first cohort of Coupang Care in April. The video introduced how he managed his health through optimized exercise and diet plans developed via expert consultations, with the celebrity 'Kim Byung-man' as his role model.

In the interview featured in the video, he said, "Since Coupang Care is conducted with communication among many Coupang Friends, I worked hard on exercise and diet control even for certification." In fact, after participating in Coupang Care, his proteinuria levels significantly decreased, and his blood pressure improved to the point where he no longer needed to take blood pressure medication.

According to Coupang, 60% of the first cohort participants, including Park Ki-beom, showed improvements in health indicators such as blood pressure, blood sugar, and waist circumference. Among participants with abdominal obesity, 44.6% achieved a normal waist circumference within four weeks, and 37.2% of participants with hypertension maintained normal blood pressure.

A Coupang official stated, "As the program's effectiveness has been proven with improvements in Coupang Friends' health indicators, Coupang's logistics subsidiary Coupang Fulfillment Service (CFS) has also introduced a customized Coupang Care program suitable for logistics center employees," adding, "Along with Coupang's direct employment and five-day workweek, we hope Coupang Care will spread as a new standard in the parcel logistics industry."
