[On-site Video] "Who is Julie!" Progressive-Conservative Clash in Front of the 'Julie Mural'

On the 29th, it was revealed that there is a mural reminiscent of Kim Geon-hee, wife of former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol, on the outer wall of a used bookstore in Jongno-gu, Seoul, intensifying conflicts surrounding it.

The mural is located on the side wall of the bookstore building. The painting shows the phrase "Julie’s Men" and a woman's face that seems to be modeled after Kim’s face. Along with the painting, the phrase "Julie’s Dream! The First Lady’s Dream!" is written.

Additionally, the mural includes the phrases "2000 Dr. So-and-so, 2005 Chairman Jo, 2006 Prosecutor So-and-so, 2006 Prosecutor Yang, 2007 BM CEO, 2008 Announcer Kim, 2009 Prosecutor Yoon’s Husband."

Civilians gathered in front of the mural created a chaotic scene, mentioning "Julie" while criticizing the Moon Jae-in administration and pointing out former Prosecutor General Yoon.

One citizen raised their voice about former Prosecutor General Yoon, saying, "Yoon Seok-yeol was made by the media!" Also, a conservative YouTuber referred to the so-called "Yoon Seok-yeol X-file," asking the citizens, "Who exactly is Julie?"

Regarding this, former Prosecutor General Yoon said in a broadcast interview on the 29th, "No matter how messed up politics is, has the level of the Republic of Korea come to this?" He added, "There must obviously be someone behind this. Should we consider this as the act of the painter alone?"

As the controversy over the Julie mural grows, a bookstore official said in an interview with a media outlet, "If they admit to having a relationship with Julie, there is a risk of defamation, so we will remove it." He added, "(The mural) has no political intent or backing. It was installed by asking a painter acquaintance after the controversy surrounding Kim unfolded."
