[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Juhee] Opposition presidential candidates former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol and former Board of Audit and Inspection Chairman Choi Jae-hyung each started Instagram and Facebook accounts on the 21st to strengthen communication with citizens.

Former Chairman Choi wrote on Facebook that day, "I opened an SNS account for the first time in my life. Last night, my son gave me a crash course," adding, "It feels unfamiliar and awkward, but I will try my best."

He continued, "They say politics is about messaging," and added, "As I carry out my activities, I will directly share my thoughts with the public and listen to and gather opinions from my Facebook friends."

Along with the post, former Chairman Choi also shared two photos of himself getting a perm, tagging hashtags such as 'FacebookOpen,' 'FirstTimeEver,' 'SonPower,' and 'HairstyleTransformation.'

Former Chairman Choi officially began his political career by joining the People Power Party on the 15th. At the same time, through SNS, he appears to have expressed his intention to communicate with the public by highlighting a friendly image.

Earlier, former Prosecutor General Yoon, who started Facebook on the 30th of last month, opened a new Instagram account on the same day.

For his first post, Yoon uploaded two photos from his visits to Gwangju and Daegu. He also posted a drawing of a cartoon character called 'Butt Detective,' which resembles him. On the sketchbook, Yoon wrote, "I will support Jeongjun's dream too! Yoon Seok-yeol."

Currently, Yoon is continuing his independent path outside the People Power Party. Although the party is encouraging him to join, Yoon is reportedly delaying his entry to appeal to centrist voters and for other reasons.

It is speculated that Yoon, who is in the third zone, is likely to engage in a final unification if he is confirmed as the People Power Party's presidential candidate.
