In response, the electric vehicle specialized media TeslaRati reported, citing sources, that Musk's Texas home is a Boxabl 'Casita' model prefabricated rental house. This model is 34㎡ in size and includes a kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom. Musk's disclosure of his residence is interpreted as being conscious of public attention regarding his assets and taxes.

Previously, in May last year, when controversy over his wealth increase arose, Musk declared that he would not own a house. At that time, he sold three houses in the Bell Air neighborhood near Los Angeles (LA) for a total of $40.9 million (46.4 billion won). Later, when a local investigative media criticized top wealthy individuals for paying low income taxes, citing IRS data, he put up the last remaining house near San Francisco for sale at $37.5 million (42.6 billion won).

Meanwhile, according to the billionaire index compiled by the economic media Bloomberg, Musk is the world's second richest person after Jeff Bezos, CEO of Amazon. He is currently known to own assets worth $185 billion (210.16 trillion won).
