Guro-gu Prepares IT Employment Support Program for 'Gyeongdannyeo'

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] “Challenge yourself with promising jobs in the 4th Industrial Revolution era!”

Guro-gu (Mayor Lee Seong) is preparing an employment support program in the IT field for women with career interruptions.

On the 14th, Guro-gu announced, “We are launching the ‘IT Core Practical Talent Development Project’ to help women with career interruptions find jobs in fields necessary for the 4th Industrial Revolution era, such as big data utilization, video editing, and web design.”

The ‘IT Core Practical Talent Development Project’ will be conducted with customized education tailored to different levels, including beginners, majors, and experienced individuals.

The beginner courses consist of ▲Big Data Marketing Specialist (320 hours of training) ▲Video Content Producer (220 hours) ▲Web and App Publishing Designer (200 hours). The program will teach from how to use the software to practical application, making it easy to understand even for those unfamiliar with the IT field.

The courses for majors and experienced individuals include short-term job specialization in SNS marketing, data labeling, emoticon and goods production, mentoring connections, portfolio support, and employment support services such as resume and self-introduction letter consulting.

Guro-gu plans to connect trainees with G-Valley companies and assist with employment through the ‘Job Discovery Team,’ composed of career counselors and others.

Anyone who is a woman with a career interruption in the region, or a major or experienced person in the related fields, can participate in this program. Those interested can apply by phone to the Guro Women’s Human Resources Development Center.

In addition, Guro-gu is preparing an ‘Online Platform Startup Support Program.’ The program, running for 8 weeks from July 5 to the end of August, offers education on understanding online platforms, portfolio composition, and revenue structure creation, along with opportunities to communicate with seniors who have already started businesses.

The target audience is women aged 20 to 50 residing in Guro-gu, and applications can be submitted via email to the educational institution MH School (papi-99@hanmail.net). The program will accept the first 10 applicants.

A Guro-gu official said, “We hope this program will provide opportunities for women with career interruptions to enter society,” and added, “We will prepare various support programs so that residents struggling with employment can find stable jobs.”

Meanwhile, Guro-gu is also operating a beauty expert training program in cooperation with the Seoul Han Young University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation. The program supports everything from education for obtaining national skin care certification to employment and entrepreneurship.

The recruitment target is 20 women aged 19 or older, and applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis by the Seoul Han Young University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation until the 4th of next month.

The training will be conducted from July 5 to September 10 and includes an intensive short-term course for national skin care certification, practical skin care courses, and beauty instructor courses.
