Mamma Mart Cheonan Branch Expands as Warehouse Discount Store, Hosting 1+1 Festival

A Strategy Focused on Expanding Offline and Technology-Centered Convergence Businesses

Mamma Mart Cheonan Branch Expands as Warehouse Discount Store, Hosting 1+1 Festival

The MommaMokja service, a delivery app exclusively for neighborhood marts operated by The Momma Co., Ltd. (CEO Kim Min-su), has expanded to warehouse-style discount stores while holding a ‘1+1 Festival’ from June 4 (Fri) to June 13 (Sun).

This 1+1 Festival applies to over 200 products ranging from fresh produce such as fruits/vegetables, meat, and seafood to industrial goods, conducted in each respective section. Starting June 4 (Fri), the 1+1 event applies to the day’s designated products (while supplies last), limited to two items per person, and all applicable items can also be ordered through the ‘MommaMokja’ app.

Recently recognized as the pioneer of dawn delivery in the Chungcheong region, The Momma, which operates the neighborhood mart shopping 2-hour same-day delivery service platform ‘MommaMokja,’ has designated MommaMart Cheonan branch as the ful?llment service outpost and is the first to provide fresh food delivery covering the entire Chungcheong area, including Cheonan and Asan regions and south of Chungcheong. It is also known to have recently started plans to renew as a warehouse-style discount store.

A warehouse-style discount store refers to a store that displays goods on a large scale to create a warehouse-like atmosphere and sells bulk, large-capacity products at low prices.

Aligned with the trend emphasizing ‘cost-effectiveness (performance relative to price),’ it is popular among consumers who want to purchase many products cheaply at once. Since fresh products are analyzed as the primary items sought by regular customers in warehouse-style discount stores, this aligns with The Momma’s strategy of ‘quickly delivering fresh ingredients to customers.’

The Momma is expanding its technology-centered convergence business through offline and app (MommaMokja) channels based on e-commerce, attempting to connect digital technology with offline stores of directly operated and franchise marts.

At MommaMokja’s O2O (Online to Offline) platform directly operated stores, MommaMart Cheonan and Geumchon branches, a pilot service will begin on June 4 to develop and introduce a new payment method that allows payment without a card if there is a history of card payment at the offline store, using the simple payment service commonly used online.

Jung Hak-du, Executive Director of The Momma’s Mart Division, stated, “Through the renewal to a warehouse-style discount store and the implementation of simple payment services, we will amplify synergy through the convergence of online and offline and prioritize customer convenience and satisfaction.”
