[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] Coupang's video streaming service 'Coupang Play' announced on the 25th that it has signed an exclusive domestic contract with Chorokbaem Media for the drama 'One Day (working title)'. The work is scheduled to be released at the end of November.
'One Day' is the first Korean drama to be released on Coupang Play. Actors Kim Soo-hyun and Cha Seung-won star in the lead roles. Director Lee Myung-woo, who directed 'The Fiery Priest' and 'Whisper' and has won numerous awards, and writer Kwon Soon-gyu, who wrote 'Warrior Baek Dong-soo' and 'Daebak', participated. This series, produced as a total of 8 episodes, is a drama that explores the criminal justice system from a popular perspective through the intense story of two men surrounding a mysterious murder case of a woman.
The work is based on the British BBC's 'Criminal Justice' and is the third remake worldwide following the United States and India. In particular, the American remake version, the HBO series 'The Night Of', was nominated for 13 Emmy Awards and won 5 categories. As Korea is showing strength in the Asian content market, high domestic and international interest is expected for this work.
