Health authorities plan to close the establishments with multiple confirmed cases for two weeks and file charges against entertainment bar owners who violated quarantine rules.
According to Daejeon City on the 30th, two people in their 20s tested positive for COVID-19 related to emotional pubs and karaoke rooms. Since the 22nd, 28 people have been confirmed positive.
A sashimi restaurant visited on the 19th by patient number 1252, an employee of an emotional pub in Daejeon, resulted in 10 confirmed cases. Additionally, five people, including colleagues and acquaintances at the emotional pub where patient 1252 works, tested positive. Four confirmed patients, including patient 1252, visited an entertainment bar on the night of the 22nd, where seven people were infected; three people were infected at karaoke rooms and pojangmacha, and two at a restaurant near the sashimi restaurant.
Health authorities have issued a gathering ban order for entertainment bars and karaoke rooms until the 11th to 12th of next month, following the sashimi restaurant and emotional pubs.
The entertainment bar that did not keep a visitor log operated by accepting mainly regular customers through a middle manager, without recording information about companions who came with the regulars. Health authorities plan to soon file charges against the entertainment bar owner for not keeping a visitor log and violating the rule prohibiting private gatherings of five or more people.
