[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-ju] A current elementary school teacher in Ulsan has sparked controversy by engaging in real estate instructor activities without permission for concurrent employment and boasting in a YouTube video that he "upgraded to a Benz after 4 years of gap investment."

According to the Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education, teacher A (43) gave lectures on topics such as "How to become a monthly rent millionaire through gap investment" on a real estate online lecture platform for one month from January to February this year. There are also allegations that an e-book containing A’s real estate auction secrets was sold.

In the video, A said, "I was an ordinary office worker 4 years ago, but now I have achieved an investment result with an expected profit of about 1.3 billion KRW," encouraging gap investment.

He also shared a success story of his investment. A said, "I made quite a profit this year by selling a lot; I sold 5 properties and earned about 580 million KRW after tax," adding, "I expect to make another 600 to 700 million KRW after this year, and if I sell a bit more later, it will be even more."

Especially thanks to the investment profits, he confessed, "I had an Avante that I drove for about 14 years, but this time I changed that car to a Benz."

The YouTube video featuring A was uploaded on December 26 last year and recorded over 10,000 views. After the controversy arose, the YouTube channel and the video were all switched to private. A’s personal blog was also set to private.

The controversy over A’s concurrent employment, instructor activities, and YouTube appearances came to light after a complaint was filed by a competing real estate platform.

When the Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education launched an audit, the platform claimed that A had volunteered his talents.

However, suspicions persist that an e-book containing real estate auction secrets was sold during A’s online lecture course. In fact, A once said in a YouTube video, "I wrote an e-book so that you can invest just by reading my book. It is also being sold through my blog."

The Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education confirmed that A gave lectures on a paid real estate site and requested a police investigation on the 22nd. On the 30th, they supplemented the complaint and re-requested an investigation into whether there was any commercial activity or receipt of money or valuables.
