Mirae Asset Securities Launches Brokerage ISA Opening Event

[Asia Economy Reporter Song Hwajeong] Mirae Asset Securities announced on the 30th that it will hold a 'Brokerage-type ISA Open Event' until May 31 for customers who open and deposit into brokerage-type Individual Savings Accounts (ISA).

This event will offer various prizes through a lottery for customers who open a brokerage-type ISA, including 10 Four Seasons Hotel accommodation vouchers, 20 AirPods Pro, and 1,000 GS Convenience Store mobile coupons worth 10,000 KRW each. Additionally, for accounts opened non-face-to-face, up to 50,000 KRW in mobile gift certificates will be given based on the net deposit amount.

ISA provides tax exemption benefits on interest and dividend income up to a maximum limit of 4 million KRW (2 million KRW for the general type), and a low separate tax rate of 9.9% applies to the excess amount.

The newly launched brokerage-type ISA combines the tax exemption and separate taxation benefits of the existing ISA while allowing inclusion of various products including domestic stocks, and enables offsetting of stock trading losses with gains from other financial investment products.

Furthermore, if ISA maturity funds are converted to a pension account within 60 days, an additional tax credit of 10% of the conversion payment amount (up to 3 million KRW) can be applied along with the basic tax credit within the conversion limit.

For direct accounts opened through non-face-to-face channels (website and mobile app), a lifetime preferential domestic stock online trading commission rate of 0.0036396% (subject to future changes) will also be provided until the end of 2021.
