Qualcomm Launches Snapdragon Sound... Minimizing Wireless Audio Defects

[Asia Economy Reporter Minyoung Cha] Wireless audio company Qualcomm Technologies International announced Qualcomm Snapdragon Sound technology, which minimizes wireless audio defects, on the 5th.

Snapdragon Sound is a technology optimized to deliver seamless, immersive audio on devices such as smartphones, wireless earbuds, and headsets. It is designed to provide consumers with excellent sound quality even while streaming music, making phone calls, or wireless gaming. Along with the launch of the new technology, Amazon Music and Snapdragon Sound playlists were carefully selected and released.

There are various reasons why sound quality between users and devices can be disrupted. Connection methods, disconnections, audio dropouts and defects, latency, and other low-quality audio compression can lead to a suboptimal listening experience.

Snapdragon Sound, which optimizes the interaction between Qualcomm’s technology stacks, is designed to provide a more robust and seamless listening experience, supporting high-quality 24-bit 96kHz audio, ultra-low latency, enhanced pairing, and clear sound quality. It also offers Bluetooth latency speeds of up to 89 milliseconds to address end-to-end latency issues, which is 45% lower than major competitors.

It also provides a more immersive gaming and enhanced video viewing experience. Snapdragon Sound integrates Qualcomm Acoustic DAC for consumers who prefer to listen directly on mobile devices, supporting up to 384kHz 32-bit PCM and DSD along with total harmonic distortion plus noise (THD+N).
