[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Viva Republica (Toss), which operates the mobile financial platform Toss, will conduct a large-scale recruitment of more than 300 people in the first quarter of this year.

Toss announced on the 20th that it will hire 330 people in the first quarter of this year ahead of the full launch of Toss Securities and Toss Innovation Preparation Corporation (tentatively named Toss Bank). Accordingly, the total organization size, including Toss and its four affiliates, is expected to exceed 1,000 employees within the first quarter of this year.

As Toss expands its business into various financial sectors, it has rapidly increased its workforce. The number of employees at the five Toss companies was 780 at the end of last year, nearly 12 times more than five years ago. In particular, the overall organization size more than doubled in the past year alone.

With the full-scale launch of each affiliate, Toss has taken a step closer to its vision of becoming a ‘financial super application (app)’. Toss Payments, a PG company launched last year, records an average monthly transaction volume of over 2 trillion KRW due to expanded partnerships with large merchants. Toss Insurance continues to break records every month based on employment innovations such as hiring full-time and new employees. Toss Securities is set to start its service next month, and Toss Innovation Preparation Corporation, established to launch an internet bank, is on track to begin operations in July.

All Toss affiliates have designated the first quarter of this year as a ‘large-scale recruitment period’ and plan to hire about 330 people by March. By field, 120 developers and 210 non-developers will be recruited. Detailed information on specific recruitment positions and job descriptions for each company can be found on the Toss recruitment website.

Toss’s recruitment process is completed within a maximum of three weeks from application submission to final acceptance announcement. Applications can be submitted at any time, and the process proceeds in the order of document screening, job-related interviews (including some task assessments), and cultural fit interviews. For some design positions, a portfolio is not mandatory, and for certain development roles, tasks and interviews are conducted on the same day to simplify the process according to job characteristics.

During this large-scale recruitment period, the restriction on reapplication has been removed, allowing candidates who were rejected within the last six months to apply for the same or different positions at other affiliates, thereby expanding opportunities. Toss’s compensation policy, which offers up to 1.5 times the annual salary and stock options worth 100 million KRW to full-time employees across all positions, will be maintained until March. This is the last chance to join as an early member of the five Toss companies and grow together.

Seunggun Lee, CEO of Viva Republica, said, “Through the launch of mobile securities and internet banking this year, Toss will completely transform areas traditionally considered conventional finance into customer-centered mobile financial services. We aim to continuously recruit talented individuals who will help achieve the grand integration of financial services.”
