"Generous Taekjin Hyung" NC Gives All Employees 2 Million Won 'COVID-19 Encouragement Bonus'

[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] Kim Taek-jin, CEO of NCSoft, will provide a COVID-19 encouragement bonus of 2 million won to all employees.

According to NCSoft on the 22nd, CEO Kim will pay all employees a "Let's Overcome COVID CEO Special Encouragement Bonus" of 2 million won on the 24th. The same amount will be given to all employees, including regular employees, contract workers, dispatched workers, and interns.

The company stated, "We express our gratitude and encouragement to all employees who have done their best in their respective positions despite the difficult environment caused by COVID-19 throughout this year."

NCSoft has been known for giving "generous encouragement bonuses" to employees whenever a hit title is released. In December last year, NCSoft also paid a bonus of 3 million won per employee. At that time, NCSoft said, "We are providing a special encouragement bonus as a token of thanks and encouragement for the efforts of those who worked hard for the successful launch and operation of Lineage 2M." NCSoft also gave a performance bonus of 3 million won to executives and employees in 2017 when Lineage M was launched.

Meanwhile, NCSoft is on the verge of surpassing 2 trillion won in annual sales for the first time in its history this year. NCSoft's cumulative sales up to the third quarter amount to 1.8549 trillion won. The cumulative sales of Lineage M and Lineage 2M up to the third quarter this year reached 1.3 trillion won. Lineage M recorded sales of 617.1 billion won, and Lineage 2M recorded 682.9 billion won. According to the mobile data analysis platform App Annie, Lineage 2M and Lineage M ranked first and second, respectively, in consumer spending among games in Korea this year.
