[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seoul Facilities Corporation (Chairman Cho Seong-il·photo) has obtained the international certification of ‘ISO 37001 (Anti-Bribery Management System)’.

This ISO 37001 certification acquisition was the first among institutions under the Seoul Metropolitan Government.

ISO 37001 is an international standard related to anti-bribery management systems established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in October 2016. Certification is granted when the institution meets certain requirements such as establishing an anti-corruption monitoring system through the certification body's audit process.

Seoul Facilities Corporation promoted the establishment of an enterprise-wide anti-bribery management system as a major project this year to systematically manage and control potential corruption risks within the organization, successfully obtaining the certification.

At the beginning of this year, the corporation established a ‘Special Measures to Improve Integrity’ consisting of six strategies and 32 execution tasks. Through this, they have conducted activities such as integrity goal sharing meetings, integrity performance evaluations, voluntary reporting systems for misconduct such as bribery and entertainment, the Beautiful Refusal Campaign, and integrity happy calls.

Additionally, the corporation has carried out various and systematic anti-corruption activities, promoting ‘Integrity Management’ as the top management principle throughout the organization. This anti-bribery management system certification is also evaluated as a result of these integrity management efforts.

Cho Seong-il, Chairman of Seoul Facilities Corporation, said, “Seoul Facilities Corporation will not be complacent with this certification acquisition but will do its best to ensure that the integrity system is well established throughout the organization and to become a trusted public enterprise for the citizens.”

Meanwhile, Seoul Facilities Corporation was selected as the ‘Best Institution’ for two consecutive years in the local public enterprise management evaluation hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety in October this year. The corporation is the first local public corporation in Korea, established in 1983, and is an investment institution under the Seoul Metropolitan Government that professionally manages various urban infrastructure directly related to the daily lives of Seoul citizens, such as Gocheok Sky Dome, Seoul World Cup Stadium, Cheonggyecheon Stream, cultural and sports facilities, memorial facilities, exclusive automobile roads, underground shopping malls, and public bicycles.
