[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Yeon-ju] Actor Park Hyo-jun has been indicted on charges of embezzlement and fraud.

On the 17th, a media outlet reported that Park Hyo-jun was recently prosecuted for embezzlement and fraud. According to the report, Park Hyo-jun is accused of failing to pay for fruits and vegetables supplied about 50 times while running a mart with an acquaintance in Bulgwang-dong, Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul, from February to May 2015. The amount of damage is known to be around 36 million won.

The victims reportedly claimed in their complaint that "Park Hyo-jun had neither the intention nor the ability to properly pay the amount."

In response, Park Hyo-jun's side expressed their grievance, stating that he was only responsible for promoting the mart and that the management was handled by his acquaintance.

The prosecution judged that since Park Hyo-jun was included as part of the management on paper, he could not avoid legal responsibility and thus referred the case to trial.

Meanwhile, Park Hyo-jun made his debut in 2003 with the film Same Age Tutor and gained recognition by appearing in films such as Once Upon a Time in High School, Blue Warning, Bad Guys: The Movie, and the drama Mr. Bread and Star Candy.
