[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Lim Juhyung] In Daegu, an incident occurred where a confirmed COVID-19 patient spat on a public health center employee who was assisting with hospital transport. The health center employee is currently under self-quarantine.
On the 28th at around 3 a.m., public official A from the Dalseong-gun Public Health Center in Daegu transported a woman in her 20s, B, who had tested positive for COVID-19, to Daegu Medical Center. During this process, B spat on A's face.
At the time, A was waking B along with a nurse and helping her board the ambulance before heading to the medical center. During this, B reportedly cursed at A and the nurse, then spat on A's face, who was in the driver's seat.
Afterwards, A immediately underwent testing and entered self-quarantine. The results are expected to be available in 1 to 2 days.
Regarding this, a representative from the Dalseong-gun labor union stated, "We will ask the victim about the details to respond at the union level," and added, "We are considering filing a police complaint against B for obstructing official duties."
