MBLAQ's member Lee Joon has confirmed his role as part of the main cast in the highly anticipated sequel to KBS’ 2009 hit TV series “IRIS.”
An official with his agency, J.Tune Camp, told the magazine over the phone this afternoon that Lee will portray the role of Kim Ji-hun, who is an undercover agent from a Korean spy team.
"We feel that Lee will show a different side to himself as an actor through 'IRIS 2' after focusing on his singing activities," the J.Tune rep added.
Meanwhile, KARA's Kang Ji-young and BEAST's Yoon Du-jun are still rumored to star in the sequel as well, while the respective agencies of the two idol stars told the magazine Friday that nothing has been set yet.
Creating a big buzz even before kicking off its run, the star-packed series is set to crank in October and expected to hit airwaves during the first half of next year.
Lee Joon, one of the vocalists in K-pop idol band MBLAQ, has pursued his acting career by starring in the Hollywood movie “Ninja Assassin” (2009) and KBS' drama “Jungle Fish 2” (2010).
